As the parent or guardian of a Garneau student, you are automatically a member of school council and are welcome to attend any or all of these organizations' meetings. You may find that some parents are actively involved in multiple committees. But as our dedicated volunteers begin to age out of their roles, we are actively looking to recruit new members who bring with them fresh ideas and creative solutions while focusing on the success of Garneau students and staff. Each parent group has a specific mission and objective that allows parents or guardians to support Garneau School staff and students most effectively.

Garneau School Council (GSC)
GSC consists of parents, teachers, staff, school administration and community members working together with the school leadership to support and enhance student learning. GSC is open to all parents and guardians who have children attending either the Garneau Community program or the Sciences Alternative program (IDEAS). GSC helps to organize school-wide events, in addition to events such as the monthly Bike Bus, community safety initiatives and Grade 6 Graduation.

The 2026/27 chair of the GSC will be Anna Lilley. Thank you to our outgoing chair, Jessica Holt.
