THANK- YOU from the bottom of our hearts to our long standing and dedicated members of Garneau School Council, Friends of Garneau Society, IDEAS Lab Parent Society. You have worked tirelessy over the last 6 years, dedicating time and energy in our school, students and community. You have mentored and taught the next generations of parents and volunteers. We would not be where we are today without your efforts. Thank you Jessica, Christian, Marie, Karen, Anna and everyone else behind the scenes.
Garneau School Council (GSC)
GSC consists of parents, teachers, staff, school administration and community members working together with the school leadership to support and enhance student learning. GSC is open to all parents and guardians who have children attending either the Garneau Community program or the Sciences Alternative program (IDEAS). GSC helps to organize school-wide events, in addition to events such as the monthly Bike Bus, community safety initiatives and Grade 6 Graduation.
The 2026/27 chair of the GSC will be Anna Lilley. Thank you to our outgoing chair, Jessica Holt.

Friends of Garneau Society (FOGS)
FOGS is a registered charitable organization and works collaboratively with the school council and the school to identify priorities and raise funds to support all students of Garneau School. The money raised by FOGS supports ALL SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS (over $250/year savings for parents) and school-wide events such as the Harvest Ball of Fun, Metro Theatre movie day, Family Movie night. Teachers also receive funds from FOGS each year to purchase supplies for their classrooms.
The 2025/26 President of FOGS is Amy Chilton. New board members will be selected at the Annual General Meeting in the fall.

IDEAS Lab Parents Society (ILPS)
ILPS consists of parents/guardians of children enrolled in the Sciences Alternative program. They work collaboratively with the school principal and teachers to support the delivery of the project-based learning pedagogy. ILPS provides advice and input to the principal on matters related specifically to the Sciences Alternative program. They also work closely with the GSC and FOGS to support school-wide events and to better the connection between the Garneau Community Program and the Science Alternative program.
The 2026/27 Chair of ILPS will be selected at the Annual General Meeting in the fall.
